Chile

Chile records court-imposed bans on working with minors in a special section of the national convictions register. Anyone may check a named person for a hiring purpose, but the answer is only yes or no (Ley 20.594). Entry must be refused to anyone convicted in Chile or abroad of rape, the other sexual offences of the Penal Code, or child sexual abuse material offences (Ley 21.325 art. 32(5)). Other foreign convictions are discretionary grounds for 10 years (crimes) or 5 years (lesser offences) (art. 33(1)).
